This is a two week class that includes a Pre-Press class.
Sunday February 1st is a special Pre-Press class taught by Arley-Rose Torsone. Bring your artwork that you will be printing the following week in either digital form (300 dpi or higher) or in physical form (and Arley can help you scan it in). You will learn the proper way to prepare your artwork for letterpress.
Note: This class requires a laptop with Adobe Photoshop installed (Illustrator is helpful but not required). If this is an issue, please call ahead (401-831-9327... ask for Arley) and we can make special arrangements.
In week two, participants will make a plastic plate and print cards of their own design on our Vandercook proof press. Leave with a stack of your own letterpressed Valentine cards, beautifully embossed with your image. This class is designed for new printers and also those familiar with the letterpress. We will go through the process of exposing and creating a plate, inking the press and adjusting printing margins.
All materials are included in the price of the class. When signing up please note, there are five spots in the class. Each spot costs $60, and is for a two people (couples, family, friends, ect.) To Sign up visit the AS220 Shop!
Other suggested but not required supplies to bring to class: wine, chocolate, cd mixes
