Vote Yes on #2!
On November 5, 2002, Rhode Island voters will have an opportunity to vote
for a $14 million state bond referendum--Question #2 on the ballot--to
fund historic preservation, recreation, and heritage projects. THE BOND
INCLUDES $3 MILLION TO FUND A GRANT PROGRAM OPERATED BY THE THE R.I.
HISTORICAL PRESERVATION & HERITAGE COMMISSION TO SUPPORT CAPITAL
PRESERVATION PROJECTS AT CULTURAL ART CENTERS AND MUSEUMS LOCATED IN
HISTORIC BUILDINGS. Other components of the bond include $3 million to
fund construction of the Roger Williams Park Botanical Gardens; $5
million to fund construction of Heritage Harbor Museum;and $3 million to
fund construction of the Pawtuxet River Walkway in West Warwick.
Passage of this referendum is of tremendous importance to AS220 and
PERISHABLE THEATRE because it represents a potential source of funds that
can be used by our organizations to make some very much needed capital
repairs and improvements to our complex on Empire Street. When you go to
the polls on November 5th, we urge you to join us in supporting Question
2!
