1995 Events

FOOLS BALL

The First Annual AS220 Fools Ball was a great success. AS220 made over $10,000 in much needed income. The key to this event was the generosity of our corporate sponsors. Money donated by Fleet National Bank, Rhode Island Hospital Trust Bank, Citizens Bank, NYNEX, McLaughlin and Moran and Edwards and Angel allowed AS220 to pay all musicians, performers and artists involved in the event, returning over $5,000 of our expenses back to the Rhode Island artistic community. Attendance estimates exceed 500 and we are already making plans for Fools Ball '96.

Individual Membership Drive

The 1995 Individual Drive was a success! Revenues exceded the goal of $5,000, by nearly $1,000. We achieved a 6% return rate on our original membership mailing, and the donations averaged $40 each. This impressive showing is indicative of AS220 strong and generous constituency. Next year's response should only be better.

Moola Gala

Moola Gala II, still held at Lupo's is a scaled down version of last year's rock-show fundraiser. The event will be for one night only and will feature the talent of internationally-acclaimed Combustible Edison. We are certain that this more concentrated effort will yield important income.

Corporate Drive

The AS220 Complex undertook its first corporate membership drive in 1995. While the response was not as large as we hoped it would be, it was fairly profitable learning experience. Over $5,000 came in from AS220 supporters in the business world not even counting in-kind contributions. For next year, we are considering plans for linking this membership drive to a corporate sponsorship program for the Fools Ball.
