Media Arts Membership
If you do not have prior experience with the techniques and tools we offer, but are looking to learn a new skill; we recommend that you take one of our workshops to familiarize yourself before purchasing a membership and booking time to work independently. AS220 Industries Annual Membership
Once you have decided to become a Media Arts Member, you must first purchase a $40 AS220 Industries Annual Membership and complete the Membership contract, which can be obtained from the Media Arts Manager. New members will receive a log-in to our online reservation system enabling them to reserve time using those resources that they have ample proficiency with during predefined 4 hour blocks.
AS220 Industries / Media Arts Membership Options
AS220 Media Arts has a number of membership options with varying levels of responsibilities and access.
Pay By Session – $25 per 4-hour session
Members opting to pay by session can rent 4 hour blocks of time in our darkrooms or digital lab for $25 per block.
Media Arts Members member can rent cameras and studio lighting equipment for a nominal fee. We also offer printing papers to our Members at a significant discount, which includes the price of inks used in high-quality digital imaging.
Monthly Membership – $80/mo.
Monthly Membership includes six 4-hour blocks of time per month for $80. Additional blocks can be purchased for $15 each. This is a great option for heavier users of the shop, allowing frequent access at a $55 discount compared to paying for each block.
Monthly Membership requires a three month commitment.
Monitor Membership - $40/mo.
Monitor Members are responsible for “staffing” the darkrooms and our digital lab at the Mercantile, providing guidance and support for new users and enabling our regular monthly members to access the space. For $40 per month, two 4-hr volunteer shifts, and attendance at one meeting each month, Monitor Members are entitled to unlimited reservations during our regular public-access hours.
Keymembership – $40/mo.
Keymembers assume responsibility for the continued development of the program, fundraising, upkeep of the facilities, conducting our monthly open houses, orienting of new members, and training monitors. With your commitment of $40 per month, three 4-hr monitor or volunteer shifts, and your participation at three to four meetings per month, you receive unlimited usage during public access hours and a new sense of purpose. Keymembers usually begin as Monitor Members or by the block standard Monthly Members prior to becoming Keymembers.

*Our public-access hours are dependent on the availability of the program Manager, our Monitors, and Media Arts Keymembers; and are sometimes affected by educational offerings that make use of these facilities.
