Original Repression and consequences thereof appear to have clear and marked detrimental effects on the physical and psychological health of humans; the social and technological structures elaborated by mental-egoic consciousness are clearly a mixed blessing for humans, and massively and nearly purely destructive for other life-forms and natural processes. I think these two issues are related; in general, I think that internal structures of the human psyche are liable to appear in some form in human social structures, and that the relation of mental-egoic consciousness to the rest of the intrapsychic world probably determines and explains the relationship between humans (perhaps especially the most highly urbanized, intellectual, technological peoples) and the rest of the world (perhaps including also the least urbanized, intellectual and technological peoples).
From an environmental point of view, this is clearly a pathological and highly unstable situation. This leads me to wonder if original repression and modes of consciousness made possible thereby are just a colossal fuck-up (to put it colloquially) and an evolutionary wrong turn and dead-end, or if there will turn out in future to have been a teleological justification for it. One would certainly hope the latter turns out to be the case. If it does, it would be a prime example of what I call Emergent Design.
