My head and hands are cast in blocks of plaster. The entire process is witnessed by the audience. The piece is over when the blocks are chiseled off by assistants. Audience interaction is encouraged. (3 hours)

RED BOX SERIES
A series of short pieces done every Wednesday evening at 8pm at The Worcester Artist Group, in Worcester, MA. It was my intention to bring more theatrical elements into my work. I used various props, objects and costuming in what I called a “Live Comic Strip.” These pieces all used the “Red Box” as a focal point, the same box used in my earlier works.

Performance
A political satire which depicted the inner and outer lives of popular political figures. The first time I used a recorded sound track. Performed at various venues and festivals. (15 minutes)

My head and hands were cast in solid blocks of plaster. I was then positioned in a chair and remained there for 12 hours, then chiseled out by assistants.

RED BOX
Performance / Installation
I lay inside a wooden box and spoke incessantly for four hours. People could sit next to the box and put their ear to the openings at the ends and listen.

BURIAL
Performance / Installation
Buried three feet underground while breathing through a tube to the surface. I was wearing headphones hooked up to an amplifier and microphone. People would speak into the microphone and I would respond with a red, yellow, or green light which I operated with my fingertips. (3 hours)

I lived inside an 8’ wooden cube for one week, 24 hours a day with live video cameras on inside at all times. Passersby could view through monitors mounted as “windows” on the box.
