Triangle Forest, Math The Band, and Graph
Dust off your ancient dance moves. The groove is in your heart.
Triangle Forest is an electronic music group which formed in Providence, Rhode Island, United States in 2005. The band consists of Brendan Britton (vocals, synth, MIDI guitar), Martin O'Connor (bass synth, keytar) and Ben Britton (drums). The band's original keytarist Alexandra Kleeman left the band on good terms in 2007 to focus on her college studies. Her replacement Xiaojue Hu left in 2009 for similar reasons and was replaced by O'Connor. In April 2007, Triangle Forest were the winners of the WBRU Rock Hunt, an annual battle of the bands.
Math The Band is electronic dance-rock.

MORPH SHOW with: Mr Slugg & DJ Rols, Audio/Slab, Global Crash, Video by Dave Fischer
Mr. Slugg and his lumbering lactations of digital slime on abated by his fellow super hero sidekick DJ Rols. An't nothin to say about them except... "that's original".
As one of the founding members of Shotgun Flu and the Woonsocket Noisecore scene, Jay Fragile (Audio.Slab) began playing in Providence RI in the early 90s. Over the years has played in many different incarnations of the original band as well as dj'd notably under the name Dead By Mourning quite extensively. In addition to the current Audio.Slab project, Jay Fragile is also performing as a performance art project called Punch the Box. After taking time off he is back to stay with a new project called Audio.Slab. Audio.Slab is a mixture of audio/visual and 4 specific projects representing his distinct interest in music that sometimes have a tendency to blend together. On any given night you may hear harsh noise made by hand built repurposed circuit bent electronics/ 8-bit Grindcore/ Natural Sounds / Live Percussion/ Breakcore that ventures into some pop and even dance jams. The Live sets are accompanied by algorithmicly processed video, still photographs, and pure geometry provided by Dave Fischer of CCA.ORG. Audio.Slab thrives off the energy of his audience and holds nothing back in return for what he receives from the room hes playing. The focus of the music/imagery is to captivate the listener and indoctrinate them into a world of madness until the point where the listener has no choice but to let it take hold of them and embrace the ride.
Dabbling in techno, ambient, electronica, house, big beat, trance, downtempo, experimental, IDM, electro, chill-out , glitch, and breakbeat, Global Crash is the brainchild of Paul Holder. Global Crash is at both times; music to make you wanna dance, and music to make you contemplate the meaning of existence.

AS220 Community Printshop Open House at the Mercantile Block (The New Printshop Home!)
Have questions, want to see the shop, meet the folks who use it, just want to spend some time with other printmakers? Our open houses happen the first Tuesday of every month. Each month two of our keymembers are present to run the show. If you would like to become a member of the shop, this is the time to bring some of your work by. Then we sign you off to start printing or suggest that a class might be helpful if our practices dramatically differ from your previous shop experiences. During this time we also offer orientations to the shop. We will cover basics of the AS220 shop, for example, our lighting and exposure system, rag and clean up procedures, sign up for shop time, ect. This is not an introduction to technique class, the purpose to run you through how the shop functions so that you may come and print. You cannot use the shop until you have attended the an open house or a class, so come by!

Electronics for Artists 101 at AS220 Labs (At the Mercantile Block)
A couple spaces still available! This is the first of a series of classes designed to teach the basics of electronics to those interested mostly in the practical with just a little bit of the theoretical. EA101 will introduce students to basic electronic components, how to design and prototype simple circuits, and where to go from there. Specifically, this class will teach students how to work with LEDs, 555 timer chips, seven segment displays, counters, digital logic, and simple switches. We'll discuss the basics of binary, decimal and binary coded decimals (BCD). We'll actually build circuits on breadboards. Included in the material costs are all the components that students will use in the class, so they will be able to continue their work at home. Everything we do in the class you'll be able to take with you. Three Sessions: Tuesday, March 1st, 8th, 15th 7-10PM; $125.00
