The Paul Krot Community Darkroom at AS220 is proud to host a very special Open House event to kick off the Spring session of photo fun. On April 28th at 6pm, Documentary Photographer David H. Wells will join us for an artist talk on the reality of making a living in the wide world of photography.
Wells began his career as so many of us did; with an entry level course and an immediate passion for the art of photography. Since then, he has traveled the world documenting the globalization of India, pesticide poisining among migrant California farm workers and the last generation of Rhode Island Quahog fishermen.
Among his many talents and worldly travels, Wells is also a dedicated and passionate educator and advocate for artists and photographers. Through his website
The Wells Point, he posts weekly podcasts on professional practice, technical tips and posts other valuable resources including links to grants, pricing information, local and international residency programs and other opportunities for photographers off all skill levels and interests.
Wells is a long time friend of the AS220 Darkroom and we are thrilled to have him join us and share a slice of his expertise with us. Please join us, absolutely FREE, on April 28th at 6pm in the performance space at 115 Empire Street.
