Ryan Harris
In BSS I work in Photography. Landscapes are the first thing that comes to mind when I am photographing. I can often tell when a landscape will be a good photograph. You can pick up a camera and even if you don’t know what you are doing you can get lucky. As you get better you depend on luck less and your skills more and more. I shoot both film and digital photos. With film I make black and white photos in a traditional darkroom. With digital I work in color. I like to use depth of field to emphasize my subject with more or less focus. I try to compose my photos but I don’t know how I am doing it, I just know when I think it feels done. I can’t really explain why a picture is good, it has something special about it. I don’t think it would be art if you could define everything. As an artist I want to get better and better until I can’t get better and then I want to get better. Really I just want to be good. At this time my recent photographs and my instructor is a big source of inspiration.
