"My philosophy towards my artwork deals with the surreal, which brings me to my preferred artist, Salvador Dali. I would look at his artwork parodied in cartoons I watched as a child, some of which were paintings like the Burning Giraffe or Persistence of Memory. I was fascinated with his subconscious, a truly disgustingly fabulous mind. Expressionism also plays a key role in my artwork and style because I wish to convey a sense of fulfillment and understanding of the mind through my artwork. "
I’ve been drawing and painting since 5 years of age and I am currently eighteen. My work is inspired by past and current personal experiences with a psychotic mental illness. I have taken advantage of these ailments and have put them into my artwork. The most reoccurring themes in my art work are men with facial hair and whatever disturbing creatures I can conjure with my imagination and my mental psychological horror. I use vibrant colors to bring hope to my paintings. My philosophy towards my artwork deals with the surreal, which brings me to my preferred artist, Salvador Dali. I would be honored to go to the Rhode Island School of Design; I have been longing to go since I was 14. I also write and would like to publish a book composed of material I wrote when I was at the prime of my illness. I am very proud of what my chemical imbalance has blessed me with. I love how I think, and that it is evident in my artwork.
