The communications team of the Broad Street Studio's summer job program has been learning how to use Movable Type to write blog entries on the AS220 website. Our fist project was to write about what our definition of BSS is. Check it out.
WHAT IS BROAD STREET STUDIO? Posted by Yelica
AS220's youth program has been very helpful to me. AS220 brings all kinds of people together to learn about each others talents. This program gives people a chance to follow their dreams, and gives them a chance to be them selves, and enjoy what they do. Being a youth employee to this program could probably be the most comforting, joyful situation Ive been in. I was introduced to this program by the institute for the study and practice of nonviolence. At first i did not have an open mind about working with their program but i ended up really enjoying what i do. And the thought and experience of helping others makes me feel successful in something. Since I've been here I have not been introduced to any violence and for that i give this program a smile and a big thumbs up.

What Broad street studio is to me is a place where you can be yourself. Is a place where you can relax, make new friends and feel like you fit in. Its also a place that you can learn how to do different things like draw, paint, take pics, make beats and some other stuff. It can be a place were you can come and just hang out. Broad street studio is a great place to come and escape trouble when you have nothing else to do.

To me Broad Street Studio is a place for me to have fun and be proud of my artwork. It is a place were I can relax from my nutty life. It is also a place were I can talk/hang out with teens that have the same interests as I do. I'm a city kid with a lot of talent, here I can Show what I have and no one can say anything because they do the same thing. Drawing anime and manga is what I do here and it goes into the Muzine.
