Elementary Showcase: Featuring J-Live and DJ Flo Fader

AS220 Broad Street Studio presented Elementary Showcase featuring J-Live and DJ Flo Fader. The event took place in Providence, RI at The Black Repertory Company on October 16, 2005 with over 160 youth in attendance. AS220 Broad Street Studio would like to thank J-Live for an amazing performance, the youth who participated in our open mic, our youth feature, Urban Prophecy dance troupe, and to all the young people in attendance who made this Elementary Showcase a success.

Elementary Showcase is a youth open mic event that gives any young Hip Hop artist a chance to rock the mic for his or her first time and/or to hone their skills. The show consist of an OPEN CYPHER: a freestyle circle of emcees that start the show off, set the vibe, and share their skills, an OPEN MIC: an emcee or group has three minutes to shine and share their original Hip Hop work, a B-GIRL/B-BOY CYPHER: exactly like the open cypher but for our hip hop contortionist, poppers, breakers, and Hip Hop dancers, and an EMCEE BATTLE: 4 young emcees under the age of 21 get on stage to showcase their talent and have some fun.
