A night of improvised music and technology experiments, featuring Providence’s own and visitors from afar!
The Hastings/Knoth Duo (Providence, RI)
Eric Hastings (drums, percussion, MIDI triggers) and Brian Knoth (guitar, electronics) are the Hastings/Knoth Duo. Their music combines loosely structured compositions with healthy doses of improvisation. Collectively, the music draws from influences as far ranging as instrumental rock, free jazz, fusion, and ambient electronic. They are known to perform with guests on a regular basis, often including upright bass, and sometimes, saxophone, additional percussion and/or strings.
In the Loop (NYC)
Live electronic improvisation and remixing with guitar, synth, laptop and effects. Groovy funk, spaced out jazz, and improvised jams collide with custom re-mixes and mash-ups, all mixed and manipulated on the fly! In The Loop is a one-man-band (most of the time) with unlimited musical and technological possibilities…
exaltron is one-man looping machine who uses and abuses all manner of software and hardware to capture live trumpet, guitar and vocals, gleefully chopping and blending familiar textures into a futuristic tapestry of avant-funk.
Arvid Tomayko-Peters and Elliot Creager (Providence, RI)
