Capital Campaign CommitteeBert reported that the campaign booklet will be ready in March.Dennis spoke about some logistics of the campaign, noting that we may need to set up a separate restricted gift account, and a brokerage account to facilitate gifts of securities. Manny arrived. Some concern was expressed whether we would be ready to initiate the capital campaign at the Fools Ball, but Bert pointed out that in a recent speech about all the great things going on in Providence, the Mayor announced that AS220 is having a capital campaign, making the whole point moot. Bert described some ongoing intricate negotiations for obtaining additional space off-site (from 115 Empire) but still within the downtown Arts and Entertainment District. (4) AS220 Staff ReportBert reported on the progress of the Muse Union. Five VISTAs are now providing staff support for the Union. In a related development, AS220 staff is working with TIDES, a program for counseling youth-at-risk, to develop a community youth studio that would offer workshops in the arts and media (photography, dance, computer graphics, etc.) for young persons released from the Training School. TIDES would transport and monitor the people placed in these workshops. It is likely that funding for this proposal can be obtained from the Governor's Justice Commission.
