AS220 Mission
We, the citizens of Rhode Island, associate ourselves for the purpose of providing a local forum and home for the arts, through the maintenance of residential and work studios, galleries, performance and educational spaces. Exhibitions and performances in the forum will be unjuried, uncensored and open to the general public. Our facilities and services are made available to all artists who need a place to exhibit, perform, or create their original artwork, especially those who cannot obtain space to exhibit or perform from traditional sources because of financial or other limitations.

keith.jpg"Cabaret is a format that I love and I'm excited to bring it back to the AS220 stage," Munslow says. A former member of the performance art troupe Meatballs/Fluxus, Munslow was also involved in AS220's Cabaret of the Oddly Normal, and co-hosted Rick and Keith's Show of Shows. "It will be great to exercise the vaudeville muscles again."

"In this new era of "divine" Providence, the city and some of its artists are beginning to lose their sense of humor." Says Umberto Crenca, Artistic Director, AS220. "Everyone is always so serious. The Empire Revue promises to bring some humor and satire back into the conversation." Crenca explains that AS220, was once home of the successful and memorable Porkchop Lounge, and AS220 welcomes the Empire Revue knowing that it will draw a unique and eclectic crowd back to the performance space.

Like the Porkchop Lounge, the Empire Revue features a variety of styles, from burlesque to sketch comedy, improv to musical acts in a fast-paced 90-minute show featuring local artists. "I look forward to working with some folks that I've never worked with before, as well those that I've shared the stage with many times." Munslow says.
